Chocolate Sheet Cake 🍫

 

Ingredients

 

For the Cake

 

• 2½ cups all-purpose flour

• 2 cups granulated sugar

• 1 cup cocoa powder

• 1 tbsp baking powder

• 1 tsp baking soda

• ½ tsp salt

• 3 large eggs

• 1 cup vegetable oil

• 1 cup milk

• 1 cup hot coffee or hot water

• 1 tbsp vanilla extract

 

For the Chocolate Frosting

 

• 1 cup butter

• ½ cup cocoa powder

• 4 cups icing sugar

• ½ cup milk

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• Chocolate sprinkles for topping

 

Instructions

 

1. Preheat your oven to 170°C and grease a rectangular sheet cake pan.

 

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

 

3. Add eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and combined.

 

4. Pour in hot coffee or hot water and gently mix until the batter becomes thin and glossy.

 

5. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

 

6. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

 

7. For the frosting, melt butter in a saucepan and whisk in cocoa powder.

 

8. Gradually add icing sugar, then pour in milk and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.

 

9. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and finish with chocolate sprinkles.

 

10. Slice, serve, and enjoy every fudgy bite 🤎
